My child is 13 years old. In Bulgaria, for two years, nothing helped him. According to the epicrisis he has juvenile arthritis and hepatitis B. I was in hospital for 5 days for examinations, in the gastroenterology department. We were told to go back in 6 months for a check-up, they prescribed no treatment, explained nothing.
I got angry and started searching the internet for a hospital in Turkey. I contacted Kamelia from ZIC Medical Karaj and sent all the epicrises, old MRIs and one new MRI. The girl responded so fast that in 2 days we got a reply that we should go and do the tests on the spot.
She booked us appointments with all the specialists we needed for our child. We immediately went to Istanbul- they ordered full tests for hepatitis, colonoscopy and gastroscopy. They found so many things we didn't know the child had. He was diagnosed with Sappho syndrome, which requires long-term treatment among other co-diagnoses. They took biopsies from his problem areas where they judged. We were prescribed medication for the ulcer and gastritis with a guarantee that all would be well in 2 months and we went home. Now we are waiting for the rest of the results for the hepatitis and from the biopsies. The doctors will then work out a multidisciplinary organised treatment plan for the various conditions. This has never been done in Bulgaria.
I want to thank Camellia for her quick response. Everything was specified in detail - we had no difficulties anywhere. Eileen was waiting for us on site and she translated every word to the doctors in 100%. I want to express my gratitude to Camelia and Eileen for the convenience of going to an unfamiliar place, not knowing the language and still getting the care you need. Thank you also to the team at Liv Hospital!
