I am writing on behalf of my father. Our story is as follows - after partial numbness of the limbs, they found a tumor in the spinal cord of enormous size (from 2 to 7 my vertebrae, which is almost 12 centimeters in size). The doctors in Bulgaria were adamant that even the most precise surgery would leave serious consequences- paralysis of the body from the neck down, paralysis of a certain limb, partial immobilization, etc. We met with a number of professors, associate professors (the best of the best), but alas, no one gave a guarantee or the least reassurance.
We ran from town to town, from doctor to doctor, without hope. Until we met Assoc. Zafer Toktash. Whatever I say about it will not be enough. An incredible specialist and person. As soon as he saw our results, he mentioned that he had done a similar successful surgery 3 months ago - the exact opposite of our doctors here who said it was the first time they had seen such a thing. My father had to be in a wheel chair. Alas he was on his feet. That was good enough for us. This is the time to thank the lovely Star and her team who were by our side the whole time. Believe me, moral support is terribly needed at a time like this, and we received so much more - friendship.
I continue with our arrival in Istanbul. From the very first minutes of our arrival to the very last minutes of our not so short stay was our interpreter Ayşe - an amazing person, giving all her heart and soul for the patients' smiles. She laughed with us, she cried with us, she was available to us 24/7. Moving on to the surgery itself, she performed it Assoc. Toktash and his team. It was more than successful. Without any consequences and complications. As I said to him - I had one hero - my father, after what happened the list was completed and Assoc. Toktash! I can only say superlatives about the hospital stay and the post-operative care and rehabilitation.
Thanks to all the heroes mentioned above!
We are lucky to have touched you! Don't stop giving health, thank you for being there!
We patients need humanity, tolerance and understanding. In addition to that, you have given us much more - a shoulder to lean on. What more could we ask for?
