The reason I sought help from ZIC,, Medical Karaj" is epilepsy of a child - diagnosed in our country with so-called "small seizures". This according to all doctors in our country is quickly and easily managed, but unfortunately it did not happen here. So we found our way to Memorial Shishli Hospital in Istanbul.
In Bulgaria, they confused and overdosed the child's medication and he lived for a long time (months) in agony from severe headaches, dizziness, double vision. They passed only after he vomited from the severe pain. I'll spare the names of the doctors (not one or two, but they are all "luminaries") I've consulted at our house. They just added migraine to epilepsy as a diagnosis and only increased the number and amount of meds they thought I should give her. But the child only got worse from this.
The decision to seek help elsewhere for the terrible "little fits".
The decision to seek help elsewhere came quickly. As soon as the doctor, with whom my daughter was dispensed, started raising her hands and unequivocally showing her frustration. I then tried to make an appointment with another pediatric neurologist. It turned out that this could be done in at least five months because our pediatric neurologists are very busy. Even my tears at the door of the office and the child barely standing on his feet in pain, did not move the specialist in the least. At least she would have listened to me. She cut me off, told me I needed to call the phone number written on a sticky note she handed me to make an appointment.
This made me decide to seek help for epilepsy elsewhere.
I stumbled upon the website of ZIC ,,Medical Karadja" by accident. In less than ten days they were able to book an appointment for a pediatric neurologist in Turkey. To make a final decision I was helped by the many positive reviews of mothers from Bulgaria who sought help from Assoc. Sinan Chomu and were fascinated by his attitude, professionalism and the effect of his treatment.
Dr Chomu confirmed the diagnosis of epilepsy. Just a few days after starting the right treatment with the right medications and in normal doses for her weight, my child is smiling. She doesn't have a headache and can start leading a normal life again, going to school and having fun with her friends. Of course now, we have yet to really treat her little seizures since 2019, but I am confident that this time everything will be fine.
The fact that our doctor is more than 500 km away doesn't matter. We live in the age of electronic communications and will be in constant touch with Dr. Chomu, with the help of our coordinator, Sevjan. She is very attentive, kind and at the same time a true professional. She was with us everywhere. She translated for us, took care of our hotel accommodations, and arranged for free transfers from the bus station to the hospital, to the hotel, and to the bus station on departure. With the help of ZIC,, Medical Karaj" and our next visits for check-ups, will again be organized at the highest level. My recommendation to parents in my situation is - don't waste your time and nerves here at home! Save it for your children too! They have the right to adequate treatment and a normal life!
