On the day of hair transplant
The Sapphire FUE procedure takes place in two stages. In the first, the patient is prepared and the removal (extraction) of whole follicular units from the donor area is performed. These are sorted and stored in cold saline. In the second phase, the follicular units are grafted into the problem area one by one. At this time, the patient is placed in as comfortable a semi-recumbent position as possible and can read or watch television. The transplant lasts 5-6 hours. Up to 4,000 grafts or 12,000 hairs are transplanted.
