The Radixact is the latest model in the family of tomotherapy devices.
The Radixact system enables top-level precision and efficiency with a fully integrated platform for intelligent treatment planning, cathro and data management. Utilizing advanced radiography and the latest generation CTrue™ technology, the system provides scalable and highly reliable treatments for patients with a variety of individual needs.
The most important capability offered by the Radixact system is helical drug delivery.
The system is a combination of a megavoltage CT function and a linear accelerator. The device consists of two arrays of multi-sheet collimators and a linear accelerator. The two multi-sheet collimators enter the field sequentially and provide coherent intensity and dose homogeneity and the ability to adjust it over the target location due to the irradiance applied by the continuously rotating scanning head, similar to a CT scanner. Intelligent integration and automation accelerate treatment planning, and a high-throughput linear accelerator speeds treatment delivery.
Another plus of the system is the unlimited treatment area.
Unlike other systems, the treatment area is 40×130 cm wide, allowing irradiation of the entire bone marrow, the entire craniosacral area, and the entire body. Real-time tomographic images are used for radiotherapy under visual control. Since dose calculation is possible from the images themselves needed for control, they can also be used for adaptive radiotherapy.
The Radixact system sends radiation to the tumor, sparing normal, healthy tissue. It provides aggressive treatment and adaptation with fewer side effects.
The main methods of treatment with Radixact are:
