Happy people live 7 to 10 years longer than unhappy people.
The probability of developing heart disease for the optimist is 77% lower than for the pessimist.
It probably seems to you that this is just another boring statistic, where a few figures are published after a survey that nobody has ever heard of.
The idea here is to look at positive thinking and all that it could give us. No, this is not an attempt to lighten the mood - it is a statement based on scientific experimentation and evidence!
In a situation like today's - COVID 19 - we, deprived of a social life and in the grip of the unknown and anxiety, let us raise our heads and call positive thoughts to our aid!
- Placebo effect - has anyone heard of it and how familiar are we with the true results of these studies?
When a study group of patients assumes they are receiving an effective drug, but these patients instead take the "miracle form" of the placebo effect, the study in not a few cases produces a good result. In 18-80% of the cases, people got well!
Rogaine studies a group of bald boys, gives them a placebo and they start growing hair!
A perfect example from the medical literature is the case of Mr. Wright, studied as early as 1957. Briefly, this is the story of a patient with an advanced form of lymphosarcoma. The patient had tumors the size of an orange in his armpits, neck, chest and abdominal cavity. The liver and spleen were enlarged. Mr. Wright did not lose hope and made every effort to prescribe him a new drug, which scientists were still studying.
He was prescribed the medicine and after 10 days the tumours had doubled. After two weeks from the beginning of the intake, they completely disappeared. The patient believed in the miracle drug for two whole months. Until a full medical report came out stating that the curative effect of this drug had not been proven. Mr. Wright became depressed and the cancer returned. Gradually, his will to live waned and he seemed to have forever banished the positive thoughts and faith that he himself had maintained and followed until yesterday! Before long, Mr. Wright passed away.
But is it really only the power of positive thinking that leads to such results? Harvard scientist Ted Kaptchuk sums up his contention that the attention and concern for patients by medical staff influences even more than positive thinking. In other words, every sick person can get well only in case that not only he himself, but also his relatives and the doctor treating him believe in the victory over the disease. This has also been proved by research.
There are many examples we could give. Few people truly think about the direction of our thought and how it could turn the course of a disease, of a destiny!
Conclusions:
Be positive - heal yourself and those around you! Believe that everything that is yet to come is new and good! Banish the bad influence of fear and faithlessness!
Whether we will be able to cope - depends on Us!
