Prof. Dr. Luis Madero is the head of the Department of Pediatric Onco-Hematology at Quirónsalud University Hospital Madrid. He has extensive experience and is a lecturer in Pediatrics at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Among other responsibilities, he is the former National Coordinator of the Thematic Research Network on Fanconi Anemia. His lines of research include cellular and oncolytic immunotherapy for metastatic, refractory or recurrent pediatric tumors, childhood leukemias, exercise in children with cancer, clinical trials in early stages and development of new therapeutic targets.
As a highly recognized researcher, he has over 10 awards. Among his 40+ year career, he was awarded the Community of Madrid's Silver Plaque in 2008 and the Individual Medal of Combat Merit in 2006. Prof. Dr. Madero has also been recognized for his success as one of the top doctors in the country in Forbes Magazine's rankings.
He is the author of over 200 publications in international journals and 200 in national publications. He has written over 12 books on topics in his field and has authored chapters in over 70 books. He has participated in over 200 conferences. He has been the principal investigator for over 10 research projects with national grants and an associate investigator in over 20 research projects.
