Prof. Dr. Joaquim Casanas completed his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona in 1993 and specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the University Hospital of Belvidge from 1989 to 1993. In 2001, he received his European Diploma in Hand Microsurgery. He also holds an ESADE Diploma in Integrated Health Systems (Health Management) and a Certificate of Practical Merit from the Federation of European Societies. In 2005 he was a fellow at the Mayo Clinic. He is a lecturer in the Master's Degree in Hand Surgery at the University of Barcelona, and teaches at the International University of Catalonia. He is a lecturer in physiotherapy at the Universitat Gimbernat.
