Koç University Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in our southern neighbour. It was established in 2014 as a hospital for medical research and training of young professionals.
Prof. Dr. Gürkan Telioglu was born in 1973 in Hatay. He completed his medical education at the Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul University in 1998. In the same year, he started his specialization in general surgery at the General Surgery Clinic of Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. During her specialization, she also received training in kidney transplantation. He completed his specialization in 2003 and continued his work as a general surgery specialist at the Organ Transplantation Center of Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. Prof. Dr. Gürkan Telioglu received a scholarship to study abroad organized by the Liver Transplant Association of Turkey and worked as a research fellow at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA in 2007. He received the title of " Associate Professor" in 2010 and the title of " Professor" in 2016.
Prof. Dr. Gürkan Telioglu has hundreds of publications in national and international journals. His scientific work has been cited over 700 times. In 2014, he published the book "Live Life", which was written to raise awareness about organ donation. The book contains true stories of organ transplant patients.
