Acıbadem started its journey in providing healthcare services as a small district hospital in one of the neighborhoods of Istanbul, Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Jihan Uras was born on June 23, 1958. He completed his medical education at the Medical Faculty of the Thracian University in Adrianople in 1981. He specialized in general surgery at Istanbul Cerrahpaşa University from 1981 to 1986. He received the title of associate professor of general surgery in 1990 and the title of professor in 1996. Prof. Dr. Cihan Uras is one of the most sought after surgeons in Turkey and has more than 33 years of experience in his field.
Prof. Dr. Uras has been working at AJK Hospital since 2000 and at AJK Hospital since 2010.
He was among the specialists who brought laparoscopic surgery to Turkey in the 1990s. He performed Turkey's first mastectomy, simultaneous with breast implantation and reconstruction surgery. In 1998, he performed the first sentinel lymph node biopsy in Turkey. In 2012, he administered single intraoperative radiotherapy after breast conservation surgery for the first time.
