Memorial Group of Hospitals - selected as the best IVF centre in the world in 2015
The desire to have a child is easily fulfilled in the Turkish group of hospitals MEMORIAL. It includes the famous Center for Reproductive Medicine, where for over 15 years they have been using the most progressive technologies in this field.
Why choose Turkey and when to apply?
The In Vitro Center at MEMORIAL has already for several years held an international quality certificate JCI. And in 2015 in London it was awarded the "Best fertility treatment center"!
Thanks to the experienced specialists of the Center for Reproductive Medicine at Memorial Hospitals, almost every problem related to both female and male infertility finds its solution. Couples from all over the world seek help here if:
- the woman, until the age of 35, could not conceive a child for one year after the marriage;
- in women over 35 years of age, no planned pregnancy has occurred within six months;
- the woman has menstrual cycle disorders;
- previous pregnancies have ended in miscarriages;
- children are born with malformations;
- one of the spouses suffers from hereditary chromosomal diseases (haemophilia, Down syndrome, etc.).
What treatment will be offered at the In Vitro Centre?
The Reproduction Center of the Memorial Clinic has three branches: in Istanbul, Antalya and Ankara. All of them are equipped with the most modern equipment for conducting the most advanced diagnostic manipulations and procedures in the field of artificial insemination.
In addition, since 2013, the head of the In Vitro Center for Reproductive Medicine at the Memorial-Shishli Clinic (Istanbul), Professor Semra Kahraman, is the President of the International Association for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis.
"Our capabilities allow us to perform endoscopic treatment of infertility, diagnosis and treatment of endocrine gynecological diseases, embryo and blastocyst deep freezing," says Dr. Semra Kahraman.
Also, specialists at the center use laser-assisted puncture, can perform minimally invasive (laparoscopic) testicular surgery to produce sperm, do targeted genetic testing on embryos before they are implanted in the uterus (PGD), and much more.
Memorial Health Group is particularly proud of the successful in vitro fertilization surgeries. Most often this technique is used in cases of fallopian tube pathology, endometriosis, endocrine disorders, insufficient quantity or reduced sperm motility, presence of antibodies to sperm and infertility for unknown reasons.
At the Memorial In Vitro Centre, treatment of infertility is preceded by pre-implantation diagnostics. This is a genetic examination of the embryo before implantation in the uterus. Such testing allows for the pre-identification of major malformations, the detection of genetic disease and the use of only healthy embryos in in vitro fertilization.
Annually in "MEMORIAL" about 3000 couples undergo the IVF procedure and the probability of pregnancy in young couples is very good 65%.
If the prognosis is poor, i.e. if the woman is over 40 or has already had more than three failed IVF cycles, then pregnancy usually occurs in 25% of cases.
These indicators are much higher than the world average.
Science doesn't stand still in Memorial
The Center for Reproductive Medicine at the Memorial Clinic includes not only practical centers for the treatment of infertility, but also research centers. For example: a department of andrology and prenatal medicine, genetics, a center for the development of new technologies, a training center for doctors, embryologists and other specialists in the field of artificial insemination.
The team consists of 70 specialists who conduct research in the following areas:
- in vitro fertilization in women of late reproductive age who have had several unsuccessful in vitro attempts;
- artificial insemination in male infertility;
- In vitro procedure in women with several miscarriages;
- determining the degree of risk of genetic diseases;
- Embryonic stem cell research for the production of heart tissue, nerves, cartilage, bone and pancreatic cells.
What do you need to know before visiting the clinic?
Before treatment begins, spouses are offered to undergo a thorough examination in the clinic.
If the couple wants to start treatment on their first visit, the day should coincide with the second or third day of the woman's menstrual cycle. And the man should abstain from sexual intercourse for three or four days before his visit to the clinic. This is necessary so that a spermogram can be done.
A complete IVF cycle takes about 16 days. Ovarian stimulation with medication begins on day 2-3 of the menstrual cycle. Its duration is 7-10 days, depending on the treatment plan.
Then, within 36 hours, the patient takes stimulants for egg maturation. The eggs are then removed and fertilized. After 3-5 days, the embryo is implanted in the woman's uterus.
The doctors of the In Vitro Center of "MEMORIAL" have programs that provide for consultation and preparatory work in the clinic, and it is also possible to carry out the medical treatment under the supervision of the attending physician at the place of residence.
In this case, the couple is in the hospital no more than 7 days, and then comes to perform the in vitro procedure itself.
The staff of Memorial Hospitals Group is always ready for a dialogue - they speak not only English but also Bulgarian.
