Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology NL GEST

"Our goal is to help couples who cannot conceive naturally."

The GEST Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology is a private medical institution that started its activity in 1998. The Centre provides its patients with comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic assistance in the field of infertility treatment, as well as all modern methods of assisted reproduction. Since 2003, the GEST Center for Reproductive Medicine has been certified under the ISO quality management system. In January 2019, the clinic successfully completed an ISO 9001:2008 / CSN re-certification audit, thereby retaining the quality certificate from the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) in the following areas:

  • Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of couples suffering from infertility
  • Assisted reproduction - in vitro fertilization (IVF / ICSI, MESA, gamete donation, FET, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis - PGD)
  • Embryology Laboratory
  • Gynaecological endocrinology
  • Primary care for couples with established reproductive problems

GEST Clinic prides itself on its methods, covering a wide range of treatment options in the field. Usually, the assisted reproduction methods are resorted to here only after all other options have been exhausted. The clinic takes into account the wishes of each couple, regarding the approach to be taken.

The clinic evaluates the success of its activities, not only in terms of the percentage of pregnancies after IVF, but also in terms of the percentage of couples who, within one year, become pregnant naturally as a result of medical care and treatment at GEST.

Comprehensive care for infertile couples is provided by physicians of various specialties. The clinic provides the opportunity for andrological, genetic and immunological tests. The services of a psychologist and internist are also available. The high quality ultrasound equipment they use at GEST allows for the most accurate diagnoses possible. GEST collaborates with other hospitals when surgical treatment is required for its patients

At GEST, each treated couple has their own doctor with whom they consult all the results and plan the method of treatment. For patients coming from far away, the clinic tries to arrange as many tests as possible scheduled within one day.

Equipment

All clinic rooms are equipped with high quality ultrasound equipment. The clinic has the first-class ultrasound system Samsung HS70A, which allows GEST specialists to diagnose a variety of gynecological and pregnancy abnormalities. The Olympus hysteroscope that the clinic has allows to optically check the condition of the uterine cavity and if changes are detected there, it will proceed to finding an alternative to deal with it. The clinic also has a cardiograph so that the condition of the fetus in the uterus can be monitored.

At GEST, they also have a 3D/4D ultrasound for pregnancy tracking. An ECG machine allows internal pre-operative examinations to be performed.

The GEST Clinic is proud of its IVF laboratory equipment, which is essential both for achieving high standards in the work of embryologists and is also the basis for the overall success of the IVF center.

For this reason, in June 2016, the clinic undertook a complete replacement of the laboratory equipment, which placed the laboratory among the leaders in the field of assisted reproduction. The clean environment in which the embryos are processed is provided by first-class laminar boxes from the Danish company IVFtech. The embryologists' workstations are equipped with Nikon SMZ 1270, the highest quality optical technology, and the Olympus inverted microscope with Eppendorf micromanipulator is complemented by a Nikon Ti-U inverted microscope with a new Integra micromanipulator from the UK company Research Instruments. Standard embryo culture procedures are carried out in a new incubator from ESCO, which, unlike conventional incubators, has an innovative solution for culturing in separate chambers. With this solution, culture conditions are far more stable than with conventional incubators. Continuous monitoring during embryo development is superior to the standard culturing method from the PrimoVision system, which system was also replaced by the latest version during the modernization of the laboratory equipment.
