Hair transplantation occurs through a method intervention using the technique FUEwhich is the most modern and effective method of our time.
FUE MOTOR or in other words follicular unit extraction, is a method of hair transplantation, with a special instrument similar to a pen.
This method effectively combats male and female pattern hair loss, in which we have hair disorders associated with certain hereditary qualities or hormonal changes.
In this method, a Punch Biopsy device, similar to a pen, is inserted into the skin to the depth of the hair root and the follicular unit is removed entirely.
The only difference of this method, known as Fue Motor from other old methods, is the fact that the operator does not have to remove the follicular unit manually.
Another advantage of the technique is also the lower chance of graft rupture with 2-3 or even 4 roots, or in other words: higher success in protecting the integrity of the follicular unit.
Planning is an important part of the procedure:
Issues that need to be discussed such as the number of grafts to be implanted, the sites where the grafts will be implanted, number of sessions and blood tests should happen in the planning part. After the planning, it is necessary to take pictures of the patient from different angles, draw the plan for graft distribution on the scalp with a pen and take pictures again.
Anesthesiologist's opinion:
Consultation with the anesthesiologist is mandatory in patients who require systemic treatment, such as those with drug allergy, cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, etc.
Course of the operation
Removing the graphs:
For this procedure, the anesthetized area must be dilated with a special liquid. This allows the roots to be freer and the number of roots obtained to increase.
Open channels:
The channel opening process is applied to the defined areal. A predetermined number of channels are required to be opened in predetermined areas. During planning, which must be done prior to removal of the patient's hair, the required number of channels at each point is determined.
Implementation of grafts:
This is the final phase of the procedure, where the roots removed in the first phase are implanted into the canals opened in the second phase. As an anaesthetic will be placed locally on the area, the patient does not experience any pain. The grafts are placed in a container that includes a nourishing fluid that will protect them in a sterile environment.
Patient discharge:
Patients are discharged after the procedure. It is not necessary to stay in the hospital. The area where the tissue is removed is coated with a special liquid silicone. A special cap is used to cover the areas until the patient gets home.
After the operation
Things to do at home:
The patient should take off the hat when they arrive home. This is very important both because the wound will heal much faster with the help of oxygen, and it will remove the pressure that the hat can cause. It is also important to rest at home on the day of the procedure and the day after.
The patient needs to lie on their back, ensuring that the recipient area does not contact any surface. A special neck support pillow may be used the first night. The patient should not lie sideways or face down. Comfortable sleep is usually seen after 7-10 days.
The first hair wash:
It is advisable for the first time to wash in the hospital under the supervision of specialists. It is required that hair washing be done at least 24 hours after surgery and at most 72 hours after surgery.
Use of the drug:
With the serum attached during the procedure, any medications needed by the patient will also be prescribed. With this administration, the patient does not experience any pain and discomfort.
Haircut:
For the first two months you should not use a curling iron to cut the hair, it can only be styled with scissors.
