Prof. Dr. Selami Sozyubir

Prof. Dr. Selami Sozyubir was born in 1966 in Istanbul.
In 1989 he completed his medical education at the Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul Cerrahpaşa University, after which he received the title of Doctor of Medicine.
During his medical education he worked as a trainee at University Hospitals in Sweden (Umea) and Germany (Erlangen).
Between 1991 and 1997, he completed his specialty training in pediatric surgery at the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology at Ondokuz Mayis University School of Medicine. In the same year, he was honored by the Rectorate of Mayıs University for his contribution to international medical literature.
In 2005 he received the title "Associate Professor", and in 2010 he is already "Professor - Doctor".

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• 1999 - pediatric surgeon at Samsun State Hospital and Zeynep Kamil Hospital in Istanbul. He was also appointed as a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of Kocaeli University (Department of Pediatric Surgery).
• In 2002 he joined the Department of Pediatric Urology at the University of Texas at Dallas, USA.
• In 2003 he worked as a clinical researcher at the Department of Paediatric Urology, Faculty of Medicine, Egge University, Department of Paediatric Surgery
• In 2005, when he became an associate professor, the specialist started working at the Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine.
• In 2007, Prof. Dr. Selami Sozyubir started working as the Head of the Department of Paediatric Urology, which he established himself.
• In 2011, in addition to pediatric urology, the specialist became a pediatric surgeon. During this time he was involved in the establishment of the Association of Paediatric Urology.
• In 2014, he was invited to be a Professor at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center.
