Prof. Dr. Ali Irfan Emre Tekgunduz was born in 1973 in Adana, Turkey. He completed his medical education at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1998. He specialized in internal medicine at Istanbul Cerrahpaşa University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine between 1999-2003. From 2003 to 2009 she specialized in hematology at the Medical Faculty of Thrace University, Department of Internal Medicine, Chair of Hematology. During his training in hematology, he received training in stem cell transplantation at the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Unit of Istanbul Cerrahpaşa University Faculty of Medicine for 8 months between December 2004-August 2005. He did his military service at Istanbul GATA Hematology Clinic between July 2007 and June 2008. Prof. Dr. Ali Irfan Emre is one of the most recognized bone marrow transplant specialists worldwide.
