Who is Prof. Dr. Gul Nihal Özdemir?
Prof. Dr. Nihal Özdemir was born in Istanbul. She completed her medical education at Marmara University School of Medicine and her specialization in pediatrics at the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health of the same university in 2005. Subsequently, she specialized in pediatric hematology as a fellow at Cerrahpasa University Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul, Turkey. In 2012, Dr Özdemir was a clinical observer in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, USA and in the Department of Paediatric Oncology and Haematology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK. The following year, Dr. Özdemir received the title of Associate Professor at Cerrahpasa University School of Medicine. In 2014, she visited the Oxford Haemophilia Centre in the UK as a clinical observer. Until 2020, she worked as a consultant in pediatric hematology at Kanouni Sultan Suleiman Research and Educational Hospital in Istanbul. In the same year, she became a "professor" of pediatrics.
