Free consultations with a pediatric surgeon from abroad
Prof. Dr. Shafak Karacay from the high-tech hospital Liv Hospital in Turkey will visit us on June 20. The doctor with the specialty of pediatric surgery, which is scarce in Bulgaria, will consult patients from Bulgaria free of charge. He arrives at the invitation of the Health Information Center "Medical Karaj", within the framework of their initiative to provide Bulgarian patients with access to the latest achievements in medicine, partnering with some of the best medical institutions and specialists from around the world.
Assoc. Karachai has significant experience in the surgical removal of tumors in children, as well as surgeries in the areas of pediatric urology, esophageal, congenital diseases and malformations. He has won numerous awards and participated in the training of trauma and resuscitation medics in Turkey. He argues that the application of minimally invasive surgical methods is particularly important in childhood, with regard to both the physical and mental condition of young patients. That is why he employs modern laparoscopic, thoracoscopic and endoscopic techniques in his work, with which scarring is minimized, the risk of infection is reduced and children return to their normal way of life significantly faster.
Congenital malformations
With the development of medicine and the improvement of ultrasound devices, it has become possible to detect many congenital diseases already during pregnancy. Thus, paediatric surgeons together with neonatologists, obstetrician-gynaecologists and maternal fetal medicine specialists are able to plan possible corrective surgical procedures in good time and implement them at the earliest possible stage. This is one of the strengths of Assoc. Shafak Karachai - surgeries in the youngest patients at the very beginning of their lives.
Removal of tumors in children
When it comes to a cancer diagnosis, the pediatric surgeon works closely with his or her oncologist colleagues to diagnose the type of tumor, stage it, and plan the appropriate treatment. Assoc. Karachai is experienced in treating solid tumors in children, including neuroblastomas, nephroblastomas, rhabdomyosarcomas, teratomas and more.
Diseases of the digestive system
They are one of the most common reasons for surgical intervention in childhood. These include both congenital abnormalities of the esophagus and conditions such as constipation (constipation) and fecal incontinence, which can be treated with surgical and non-surgical methods, depending on the case.
Prof. Dr. Shafak Karachai will be available for free consultations in Sofia on June 20. Pre-registration is required by calling "Medical Karaj" – 0879 977 401 or 0879 977 402.
